Ludlow Coffee Supply, located at 176 Ludlow St on Manhattan's Lower East Side, is the latest outpost in founder John Seymour's growing restaurant group. Sitting adjacent to chicken and waffles destination Sweet Chick, also owned by Seymour, Ludlow Coffee Supply serves up a focused coffee menu by day and offers beer and wine in the evenings.
The newest addition to the cafe's menu is the Mike's Hot Honey Latte. The drink is made by combining:
- 1 oz Mike's Hot Honey simple syrup (1:1 MHH to hot water)
- 2 oz espresso
- Finish with 9 oz of steamed milk
Each sip gives off a smooth burn that warms the back of the throat.
Passing through the shop's front room leads to a lounge area that features a turntable and an eclectic mix of vinyl records. This space formerly housed Ludlow Barber Supply, the company's own barbershop, but was recently converted into additional seating for the cafe.
We stopped by the coffee shop to try the new latte and catch up with Ludlow Coffee Supply co-founder and Sweet Chick Life creative director Kyle Martin. Hear about Ludlow Coffee Supply, the expansion of Sweet Chick and Kyle's latest music recs on Episode 3 of the Mike's Hot Honey Podcast below.
